Very entertaining!
By J Stanley
This book, as indicated, is two of the author's earlier works republished and reworked in one volume. I thoroughly enjoyed both! The first one In the Shadow of the Moon is a time travel one very reminiscent of Diana Gabaldon where a child is inadvertantly pulled into another time period and later the mother follows. The second one Whispers of Goodbye is a dark, gothic type mystery romance sort of like a Rebecca type book. I was entertained completely by both books. They are definitely different than the author's later books because they are less her signature style and more other authors' but that would be expected in first novels. They were both very well done, in my opinion!

Wonderful stories! I'm Karen White's newest fan. Can't wait to read the next book I've purchased.
By BookNut
I loved how heartwArming these stories were with mystery intertwined in both. karen White brings the reader back to the civil war times and how women left behind suffered, took part in the war behind the scenes. imagined or not, and made a huge difference. These stories will grab your heart and won't let go. Unforgettable!

Great love story and time travel back to the civil war era
By BamaJo
I thought the author did a very good job of taking you back to the civil war era in the South. Both tales are a love story of sorts that kept me interested until the very end - which is why I rated it 4 stars. The picture on the front of the novel is Oak Alley Plantation in Louisiana and I have visited there and I imagined that house the entire time I was reading the book. I have like all of her books but this one was unique since it involved time travel - totally fictitious, but still interesting.
